Trashy Beach Blog- the last days or are they?

After doing the trashy beach blog for a week, with the last 3 days @ a completely different Australian beachside… I imagine myself and my fellow mer-friends won’t be able to stop.  In fact I know we won’t.

This new place we traveled to, Byron Bay was cleaner in parts than I ever expected…and it was during a busy holiday season.  The 5th day all I found was *Zig-zag rolling papers amidst the soft white sands.  The 6th day we found a *shoe liner and a *small plastic milk carton, yet close to the beach, and even closer to the trash bin, there was *cans *plastic containers and *plastic bags left behind.  On the 7th day, within 10 feet at Wategos beach, there was an assortment of plastics my fellow merman thankfully found after our ocean swim – *plastic rake *plastic toy mold *plastic cup *paper garbage.

We hope more ocean and beach lovers will be inspired to pick up trash, even if it’s a few pieces everytime you head to the beach for a swim, surf, or just to relax… I know, it may not look “cool” to be doing it, yet it’s the coolest thing we could be doing – besides diving into the ocean waves we all enjoy…
